Mountain View Wildlife Conservation Centre

Our Mission and Purpose
Mountain View Conservation is a B.C. non-profit society, whose mission is to save B.C. and Canadian wildlife from extinction by operating ‘breed and return‘ conservation programs for our rare & endangered “red-listed” wildlife species, and to offer public awareness & educational programs about the plight of these endangered species and their habitats.

Our unique wildlife conservation and breeding programs, that conserve the natural instincts of these wild species in captivity, are designed to facilitate the eventual release of their offspring – in bonded family groups – back into their natural habitats here in B.C., and elsewhere in Canada, the Americas’ and around the world, in order to successfully maintain sustainable wild populations of these rare wildlife species.

We have been operating these unique ‘breeding and return’ programs in natural settings and enclosures at our facility in the Township of Langley, B.C. for more than 27 years, working in partnership with the wildlife recovery project teams of Environment Canada, Fisheries and Oceans, B.C. Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, Land and Forests, and B.C. Fish and Wildlife, plus many other Conservation Organisations.

Our unique Wildlife Conservatory now comprises over 300 acres just outside Fort Langley, in British Columbia’s beautiful Fraser Valley. This map will assist you on your drive to our Conservatory. (don’t forget to book your tour first!)

Building Public Awareness
An important part of our mission is to foster public education and awareness about the need to protect and conserve our wildlife & natural wildlife habitat in B.C., Canada, and around the world. Therefore, we offer visitors pre-booked Guided Educational Tours of the Mountain View Conservatory to view its facilities and observe our Conservation Programs at work. (Note: We are not open to the public. Pre-booked group tours only please)

Our 2-hour Guided Educational Tours are offered Monday through Friday between 9.00-12:00 am or 12.00noon-3.00pm – rain or shine, from May 1st through to October 31st (Subject to available space). On Saturdays we can schedule tours from 9.00am to 12:00noon and on Sundays in the afternoon after 1:00 pm. Our picnic area tables are available free for our group visitors.

Additionally, we now offer schools and colleges, teachers, students, and other community groups a new Educational Outreach Program called “Our Connections to Nature“. This informational program includes an introduction to conservation, classroom audio visual presentations & teacher support packaged into 5 lessons,  concluding with an optional guided 2-hour School Field Trip experience that includes a tram tour through part of our 300-acre Conservatory.
