Protecting biodiversity here in BC.

Mountain View Conservation is now focused on helping save BC Wildlife species from extinction. It is a sad fact that 7 species of mammals and 4 species of birds have already disappeared from the Canadian landscape. Another 41 species of mammals and 46 species of birds are listed as Endangered, Threatened, or Vulnerable. More than 1000 species could be threatened in the near future if we do not take care of them. Listed here are our current breeding and recovery programs. We hope to add several others in 2010. Please support us in our work by becoming a donor.

NORTHERN SPOTTED OWL

Critically Endangered (Red-listed in British Columbia, Canada). Since 2007, we have been working with BC Fish and Wildlife to help save this species. We have built a large natural habitat and hunting area for them to live in whilst numbers are built back up.  In 2009, less than 10 owls were reported still living in the wild in British Columbia.
