The difference between members and donors, is that a donor will receive a tax receipt whereas members are given specific visiting privileges and therefore are not eligible for tax receipts. If you plan to be in the Langley area and wish to visit the centre, membership will allow visiting and participation in an escorted tour. As a conservation centre, our first responsibility is to the animals in our care. We are not a zoo and can not offer general admission nor is direct access, touching or feeding of the animals permitted.
Membership dollars and donations are invested in:
- Wildlife species breeding and re-introduction programs in Canada and around the world, for rare and endangered species.
- Ongoing care and feeding of the animals in our care.
- Education programs for students K-12 and internship for students and educators.
- Exchange programs with local and global conservation groups and organizations.
- Participation in habitat conservation and restoration programs.
AN EFFICIENT ORGANIZATION
Mountain View runs with an overhead of less than 2% of its annual budget. The President, CEO and Board of Directors are all volunteers. We are supported by international conservation organizations and recognized as a leader in endangered species breeding and conservation. Your financial support ensures we can continue what began in 1986 as a dream.
