The Visitor Centre is now open for Daily Guided Tours & Presentations-10.00am & 1.00pm.

Call to reserve seats on one of our Daily Tours, Family & Group Tours, or a Birthday party for this Summer 2010. This year, we are focusing on "Biodiversity" in BC, Canada and around the world, especially focusing on our Canadian "Red-listed" wildlife species that are facing extinction, including our BC Northern Spotted Owls, Oregon Spotted Frogs, and the Vancouver Island Marmots.

Mountain View has been successfully operating these critical breeding and recovery programs for many years, and has received Conservation awards for our Owl and Marmot programs. Our educational tours include up to date information about conservation of the environment, habitat conservation, and healthy ecosystems, here in BC and Canada.

Our Guided Tours are approximately 2-hours long, consisting of an audio/visual presentation in our Visitor Centre, followed by a visit to our 300+Acre Conservation Program areas by foot and by tram. You are welcome to bring your cameras.

We also have an interesting Wildlife Art & Gifts Shop for you to visit and purchase souvenirs for your family and friends.

MEMBERS & FRIENDS ATTENDED OUR OPEN HOUSE AT MOUNTAIN VIEW CONSERVATION

Langley Field Naturalists presented their "Biodiversity Inventory" of the Flora and Fauna in our Crown Land area. They inventoried over 500 species of animals and plants and trees, and we are now preparing a colourful presentation display of photos and trail maps of the area.
Their "Biodiversity" guide will be available for purchase in the gift store later this summer.

Mountain View Conservation Society Receives Honors
At the Annual CAZA (Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums) in Granby Quebec on October 2, 2008, we received 2 prestigious awards.

The first was the Conservation Award which recognized our exceptional work with the Northern Spotted Owl. The second, was Caza’s Outstanding Achievement award for our on-going work with the Oregon Spotted Frog. CLICK HERE FOR the latest stories

How to visit Mountain View

There are four ways you can visit Mountain View Conservation and Breeding Centre. Individuals are always welcome to book a tour using our online form or by calling us at 604-882-9313. If you belong to an organized group such as a club or society, you can book a tour for your group. If you are a school teacher, you can organize a field trip to the Centre for your students. For a fun filled experience, we also host children’s birthday parties which are appropriate for children between the ages of 4 and 12. In all cases, visits must be reserved and booked at least 48 hrs in advance. Tours are at 10 AM and 1 PM. Sometimes we can accommodate visits on less than 48hrs notice, if you give us a call. We purposely control public access because Mountain View is a conservation and breeding facility, and our first concern is the comfort and well being of the animals.

THE MOUNTAIN VIEW TOUR EXPERIENCE

Each tour is a guided, narrated two-hour walk and ride on our tour tram through the conservation area. The tour allows you to see animals and trees in their natural environments, supplimented by a wildlife film and presentation about Biodiverity and our continuing work to save Canadian red-listed wildlife species from extinction. You’ll meet some of our dedicated and professional animal care teams and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on our beautiful grounds. Finish the day at the Mountain View Gift Shop. Shop for souvenirs to remind you of your visit and the animals. All gift shop proceeds go to fund Mountain View conservation and breeding projects.

BRING YOUR CAMERA AND DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Also, be prepared for some light walking. Although you’ll ride in a tractor-pulled tram for some of the tour, a part of the tour is by foot. Remember, tours are conducted rain or shine, so bring appropriate gear and footwear.
